>> we begin tonight with the developing story of north baltimore. >> city fire officials say several people have been hospitalized after an apparent carbon monoxide leak inside a home. happen shortly before 8:00 tonight. our officials say people inside the home complained of headaches. paramedics began evaluating for adults and four children. we are told they were all taken to shock trauma and their conditions are not life- threatening. they did find elevated levels of carbon monoxide inside the home but there is no word on the source. >> baltimore police are looking for a suspect who took a car with a 7-year-old inside. >> kai reed is live at police headquarters with the very latest. >> the good news in all of this is that the child has been found. he is a good home with his family tonight. investigators are still looking for the person who took off with him.

>> we were just waking up and we heard spinning wheels and thought that was kind of odd. >> stacey lives next door to the child care center in northeast baltimore. she was home around 7:30 in the morning when police say a man left his 7-year-old son in his running car as he walked his other child into the day care. according to police, the man was barely gone a few minutes before a stranger jumped into the car and took off with the 7-year- old still inside. >> the suspect saw the opportunity that the vehicle was left running. >> within less than an hour, the suspect dropped the child of a bus stop on hamilton avenue. investigators are not releasing any details on what happened within the time between the day care and the bus stop, but said the job was not injured. they are looking for a silver ford explorer.

the job care center is located in a house on a narrow, secluded streets. there is no child care center sign posted outside. the owner came to the door thursday night and expressed relief that the child had been found. >> i was very happy to know that the child was safe. it's very unnerving to know that someone was just walking down the street. very upsetting. >> i just hope that they kept the person. >> please do not have a description of the suspect, but they are looking for a silver ford explorer with the license plate 828m506. kai reed, wbal-tv 11 news. >> tonight, police have arrested two men and a series of least 11 violent crimes. 25-year-old william hamels -- william campbell and 21-roby kenyon waller. police say day targeted mostly

young females at bus stops, they kidnapped, broad, and in some cases assaulted them. >> you have young women on their way to school, on the right to a public place, who were assaulted. the way they treated these young ladies is an outrage. >> baltimore's 37 police commissioner was sworn in. mayor stephanie rawlings-blake administered the oath of office at city hall. he previously served as chief of police in oakland and long beach, california. >> the reverend jesse jackson, the famous civil rights leader was called up in the battle against building a new jail in baltimore. kate amara was there.

already lost 370 blood drives because of hurricane sandy, and the need for blood is even higher because of the storm. new york and new jersey continued to deal with the aftermath of hurricane sandy, and the red cross is one of many organizations that has stepped in to help. >> a lot of staff members have volunteered their time. >> now 50 staff members in the baltimore area are prepared to go on strike if a deal for a new contract is not reached. a red cross spokesman said on tuesday his office received a letter from the teamsters local 311 saying the union could strike in 10 days. a notice is required by law when dealing with health care providers. >> it comes at a really unfortunate time. we are trying to work together with the community and put our arms around the community members and help them come back. >> that blood donation centers,
